What can you expect from working with me?

It’s something remarkable to choose presence over escape, clarity over haze. Especially in a world that seems determined to push the opposite.

And while it seems like the initial stopping would be the hard part, it’s the what-comes-after that can be the most disorienting.

If you’ve gotten this far in your journey, you’ve likely found some support— podcasts are helpful. So is therapy. But as you’re looking around at your options, you notice yourself wondering if the spaces meant to support sober women were actually created for you, or for someone else’s version of this experience that just doesn’t resonate with you.

Because you aren’t in crisis. You aren’t white-knuckling it day-by-day. It’s not that it isn’t hard, but you’re asking a different question:

Now that I’m not numbing, who am I becoming?

That question is where my work begins.

What I believe

Sobriety isn’t the destination. It’s the doorway.

There’s so much potential on the other side— self-trust, creativity, relationships that truly fill you up, a sense of being genuinely, fully alive— that’s what we’re here for. And Nature needs to be an intentional part of it.

Why? Research consistently shows that time in nature reduces stress hormones, restores mental clarity, and expands our capacity for joy. But I’ve also seen that nature does something harder to measure: it gives us back our senses, which is how we experience everything in the world! When you’ve spent years regularly numbing those senses, getting them back is like coming home to yourself.

So don’t think of me as someone who’s just here to help you stay sober (although we’ll do that too) I’m here to help you discover what your sobriety makes possible.

The SPARK Journey

My coaching is guided by a framework I call SPARK— five interwoven areas of growth potential as women step out of numbing, into nature connection, and their fully expressed lives.

S— Self-Connection

Cultivate self-trust, intuition, and identity beyond alcohol. Come home to who you’ve always been, and turn up the volume on your creative expression.

P—Presence & Pleasure

Ground in the now. Rediscover joy in your body, senses, and the living world around you.

A— Authentic Relationships

Create deep, aligned relationships and practice being fully known by others, and by yourself.

R— Resilience Rituals

Build practices that keep you centered and empowered in hard moments, including ones that tap into the wisdom of the natural world.

K— Kindle Purpose

Express the creativity that’s been waiting. Explore the contribution only you can make— through your work, your art, your way of being.

SPARK isn’t a linear program you move through in order. It’s a living framework— a way of paying attention to your whole life, together, creating the life you’re meant for.

How we work together

1:1 Coaching

We meet outdoors— at Tryon Creek, Forest Park, or other natural areas for 90 minutes of walking, talking, sensing, and noticing. Nature isn’t the backdrop for our sessions. It’s part of the intelligence of the process itself.

Every container is customized entirely to where you are and what you’re ready for. I don’t follow a script, protocol, or program. You are a unique individual, so I listen to you, and we follow what’s alive in the moment.

6 sessions— $1,200. 12 sessions— $2,200

A free 30-minute discovery call is the place to start. We’ll get a feel for each other, and together we decide honestly if it’s a good fit.

Group Experiences (Launching September 2026)

Small, intentionally designed experiences for sober and sober-curious women— outdoors, in community, doing the kind of work that’s almost impossible to do alone. If you want to be among the first to know when these open, add your email below.

A little about me

I’ve been joyfully sober since 2018, and I’ve spent the years since building, facilitating, and learning from community with sober women in Portland. Before founding The Illuminated Edge, I created and ran My Sober Girlfriends for six years— one of Portland’s first sober women’s communities, built before “sober curious” was a phrase most people knew. That work gave me something no training program could: I know what women in this chapter of life actually need, because I’ve sat with hundreds of them, and because I needed it myself.

I’m a credentialed ICF coach, a certified nature-connected coach through the Earth-Based Institute, and a trained facilitator in authentic relating. I bring all of that and more— with none of the recovery-coded language—into every conversation.

You can find me riding my bike around Portland, attending storytelling events with friends, at my local native plant nursery, or off having adventures with my loving husband and extended family. I moved from Wyoming to the Pacific Northwest for college in the early 90’s, and I’ve been here ever since.
